Overview
This application collects information to evaluate candidates for internships and fellowships offered across our Law, Policy, and Media verticals.
Application instructions
- Early in the form you will choose a vertical: Law, Policy, or Media. After selecting a vertical, the programs available in that vertical will be shown.
- Carefully review the program descriptions and indicate every program you are interested in and for which you meet the eligibility criteria.
- If you want to apply to opportunities in more than one vertical, submit a separate application for each vertical (one application per vertical).
- Applicants may be considered for multiple programs based on qualifications, availability, and program needs. We will not review incomplete applications.
Eligibility (minimum requirements)
- Actively engaged in the Muslim community.
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or a DACA recipient.
Programs by vertical
Law
- Public Interest Internship 2026 — ISF-funded support for law students who secure their own public interest internship. Internship must be at least 8 weeks. Awardees receive a $3,000 stipend.
- Public Interest Fellowship 2026 — A funded fellowship for recent law graduates (within the last 3 years) who independently place a project with a nonprofit host organization for a year of hands-on legal work and professional development. Fellowship duration is 12 months; recipients receive a $70,000 stipend and ISF mentorship.
Policy
- Fall Congressional Internship 2026 — An opportunity to work in a Congressional office, develop policy skills, and gain inside experience in public service. 10-week placement, $5,000 stipend.
- Spring Congressional Internship 2027 — Same structure as above for the spring term. 10 weeks, $5,000 stipend.
- Summer Congressional Internship 2027 — Congressional office placement for the summer; 8 weeks, $2,500 stipend, and housing is included.
- Fall Congressional Fellowship 2026–27 — A selective fellowship (aimed at candidates with 1–2 years of experience) offering practical legislative experience and professional development. Fellowship term is 9 months; stipend is $40,000.
Media
- ISF Journalism Fellowship (Zeteo — Summer 2026) — A one-year fellowship that includes a remote, paid, part-time 9-week newsroom internship with Mehdi Hassan’s Zeteo. Fellows gain hands-on experience supporting research, media, and communications work, receive monthly one-on-one coaching, and are provided financial support (up to $5,000) to attend a national journalism conference.
- ISF Journalism Fellowship (Zeteo — Fall 2026) — The same one-year fellowship structure as above with the 9-week remote, paid, part-time newsroom internship at Zeteo, monthly individual coaching, and up to $5,000 in conference support.
