TBEF Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Texas Broadcast Education Foundation
Each year the Texas Broadcast Education Foundation (TBEF) awards a number of $3,000 scholarships to accomplished students studying broadcast journalism or closely related communications fields at colleges and universities in Texas. Below are the available scholarships and their eligibility requirements.
Belo — $3,000
- Undergraduate standing: junior or senior
- Enrolled in a fully accredited program with a focus on radio or television broadcasting or communications
- Attending a four-year Texas college or university
Bonner McLane — $3,000
- Undergraduate standing: junior or senior
- Enrolled in a fully accredited program with a focus on radio or television broadcasting or communications
- Attending a four-year Texas college or university
Tom Reiff — $3,000
- Undergraduate standing: junior or senior
- Enrolled in a fully accredited program with a focus on radio or television broadcasting or communications
- Attending a four-year Texas college or university
Lady Bird Johnson — $3,000
- Open to any student
- Enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin in a program emphasizing communications
Vann Kennedy — $3,000
- Open to any student
- Enrolled in a fully accredited program emphasizing radio or television broadcasting or communications
- Attending any college or university in Texas
Wendell Mayes, Jr. — $3,000
- Open to any student
- Enrolled at Texas Tech University in a fully accredited program emphasizing radio or television broadcasting or communications
TBEF #1 — $3,000
- Undergraduate standing: freshman or sophomore
- Enrolled in a fully accredited program with a focus on radio or television broadcasting or communications
- Attending a four-year Texas college or university
TBEF #2 — $3,000
- Open to any student
- Enrolled in a program emphasizing radio or television broadcasting or communications
- Attending a two-year or technical school in Texas
