Overview and Eligibility
Texas FCCLA will grant ten (10) scholarships to deserving members who intend to enroll at an accredited college or university in Texas and pursue a major within any Family and Consumer Sciences discipline. Each scholarship totals $18,000 and will be paid out as eight (8) semester payments of $2,250, contingent on the recipient continuing to satisfy the scholarship’s eligibility requirements. Recipients must provide documentation each semester to receive the subsequent disbursement, in accordance with the scholarship’s governing rules.
CJ Davidson Scholarship — Application Information
The Texas Association of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (Texas FCCLA) administers multiple scholarships to support members seeking a college education. Applicants for Texas FCCLA scholarships must comply with the general FCCLA scholarship eligibility standards as well as any program-specific criteria for the particular scholarship being requested.
Application Steps
1) Universal Scholarship Application
- Use the “Universal Scholarship Application” link available online. On that form, indicate the specific scholarship(s) you are applying for.
- Complete the fillable PDF and save it. Include your name, school, and chapter ID number in the filename.
- Only one Universal Scholarship Application is required even if you apply for more than one scholarship.
2) Review Additional Requirements
- Check the individual Scholarship Guidelines for any extra materials needed for the scholarship(s) you select. Some scholarships require a unique personal essay and/or letters of recommendation.
- If letters of recommendation are required, allow those individuals sufficient time to prepare and submit their letters before the deadline.
3) File Naming Conventions
- Rename your Universal Scholarship Application and every required supporting document using the following format:
- Application - First Name, Last Name - School - Chapter ID
- Autobiography - First Name, Last Name (if applicable)
- Letter of Rec 1 - First Name, Last Name
- Letter of Rec 2 - First Name, Last Name
- Letter of Rec 3 - First Name, Last Name (if applicable)
- Personal Narrative 1 - First Name, Last Name
- Personal Narrative 2 - First Name, Last Name (if applicable)
- Resume - First Name, Last Name
- Scores - SAT or ACT - First Name, Last Name
- Transcripts - College - First Name, Last Name (if applicable)
- Transcripts - High School - First Name, Last Name
- Verification Letter - First Name, Last Name (if applicable)
4) Submit Application
- Use the “Submit Scholarship Application Online” button to upload your completed PDF and all required supporting documents.
