About the program
The Manufacturers Association of Maine (MAME) connects student ambition with educational opportunities to help build careers in modern manufacturing. Maine’s manufacturing sector is now a high‑tech, high‑skill, high‑paying field, and the Manufacturing Career Connection program exists to help Maine students discover their interests, identify educational pathways, and link up with local companies that are growing and preparing the next generation of workers. MAME provides both a scholarship program and complimentary student membership.
Maine Manufacturing Career and Training Foundation Scholarship
The Maine Manufacturers Career and Training Foundation Education Fund scholarship (administered by the Manufacturers Association of Maine) accepts applications each year from November 1 through April 30.
Eligibility
- Applicants must demonstrate a genuine intention to pursue further education in precision machining technology, manufacturing technology, welding, or engineering.
- Scholarship recipients must have applied to begin a fall term in one of the above programs at a Maine college or university, must be accepted into that program, and must be a resident of Maine.
Required application materials
Include the following items with your submission:
- Completed scholarship application form.
- Copy of high school diploma or equivalent, or documentation of expected graduation date and the name of your school.
- Copies of high school and/or post‑secondary transcripts.
- At least one letter of recommendation (two are preferred) from someone outside your family.
- Essay (separate sheet, maximum one page, submitted in Word format): In your own words explain your goals, aspirations, and achievements. Describe how and why you chose this career path and why you believe you should be awarded this scholarship.
